Honeymoon Brazil

Angra is often associated with rock stars, movie stars, models, and other glamorous visitors that frequent the exotic tropical paradise. Xuxa the famous Brazilian TV show host does her shows from the beaches in the "High" season.

Ask about VIP Brazil's special parties on Ilhaus do Chivas, a special island party spot for the rich and famous cutomers of Chivas Regal.

The region was discovered on January 6, 1502, Dia de Reis (Twelfth - day) and was named after the religious date. Angra dos Reis has a history rich in true tales of ships loaded with riches and pirate raids. Part of the Minas Gerais State gold was exported through the port of Angra. There's a lot of sophistication on the several islands, which make up spot for socialites from Rio, São Paulo and the rest of Brazil. One of the main events in the region is the Maritime Boat Parade / Religious Procession on January 1, when boats are ornamented to salute the New Year.

Surrounded by more than a hundred paradisiacal beaches, walking trails and beautiful waterfalls, Ilha Grande is the largest island in the Ilha Grande Bay and a true ecological sanctuary. The bottom-of-the sea keeps many shipwrecks, a testimony to hidden treasure and pirate raid stories, all part of the local folklore.

Nature is an open invitation to water sports and long walks in many woods in the region. Quarantine structures were built in the area (1886) to shelter visitors and immigrants coming from cholera plagued countries. The building, called the "Lazareto", was demolished in 1902 to give place to a penitentiary, a high security "Tropical Alcatraz". It was located in the 1980's. It's now open to public visitation. Vila do Abraão, the island's main locality has an infrastructure that provides visitors with good lodgings, boat rentals and scuba diving gear.

There are beaches waiting to be explored, where the views are spectacular. The most famous spots are Angra dos Reis, Parati (a historically preserved town of beautiful baroque architecture), Itacuruçá and Ilha Grande. In addition to Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis is known for numerous other beautiful islands.

A complete Angra experience requires boat tours to really get the most out of the extraordinary tropical aquatic scenery and to go diving and swimming in the crystal clear waters or to go fishing for you sportsmen out there. Along the coast densely covered with subtropical vegetation, one can go hiking and encounter breathtaking waterfalls some of which are gradual which you can slide down as if they were water park slides.

It's hard to keep your eyes on the road driving around the region because the views along the coastline are really spectacular. Located 155km from Rio de Janeiro, it is spread out over an area of 819 square km. It has 4 districts which are: Angra, Cunhambebe, Ilha Grande and Mambucaba. Angra is a must see region for anyone going to the Southeast of Brazil. you won't be dissapointed.
