Program Day-by-Day

Day 1

Arrival Salvador, reception and private transfer from airport to hotel and accommodation at hotel.




Day 2

Salvador. Breakfast at hotel. Morning, departure from hotel to visit the most spetacular historical points of Salvador. A true immersion in the heart of the history of this country! On the way a stop at the Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse) offers a panoramic view of the entrance to Baia de Todos os Santos, continue along the Vitoria Corridor, an avenue with trees hundreds of years old; arriving in the historic section, stop at Praça Tomé de Souza where you can observe the lower city and port, the Mercado Modelo and Lacerda Elevator. From this point the rest of visit’s on foot: Praça da Sé, Praça do Terreiro de Jesus sunrrounded by houses with colonial style, Catedral Basilica, San Francisco de Assis Church considered the best example of Portuguese baroque style. Continue dicovering the mysteries of the historic centre, walking on the sloping streets. The coloured buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries form an architectural group to the Americas, classified as World Monument by Unesco.

End of the visit, return to hotel and afternoon and night free.




Day 3

Salvador/Belo Horizonte. Private transfer from hotel to airport and embark to Belo Horizonte. Suggested flight: Varig 2677 Salvador/Belo Horizonte 14:15/16:46.

Regular tour “Ouro de Minas” - Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to the choose hotel. Check-in and in the right, we leave for a dinner at the Xapuri Restaurant, where we can relish the typical and delicious Mineiro food..




Day 4

Belo Horizonte / Boa Esperança Farm – Florestal
. After breakfast we leave towards Fazenda Vale Verde (Vale Verde Farm) to visit one of the most important destillery house in Brasil. We continue our trip leaving to Fazenda Boa Esperança (Boa Esperança Farm) one beautiful and charmous place in Minas Gerais State that still in activity. Check in at the farm and Lunch. In the afternoon we have a 2 Km (1,5 mile) trek to Fazenda Santa Rita (Santa Rita Farm) where we have the opportunity to know about caprine culture and degust the she goat cheese. In the end of the afternoon we get back to Boa Esperança Farm to have a coffee with chatter. Overnight..




Day 5

Fazenda Boa Esperança – Florestal / Ouro Preto
. Buffet breakfast, we head to Ouro Preto the incredibly beautiful town of cobblestone streets winding up and down hills all crowned by churches and chapels. On the way, we start learning about characteristics of this area.. Check in at the hotel and a quick presentation about the Mineiro baroque. Then, we leave to a guided city visit, following the Inconfidência Itinerary in the main touristic sites. After Lunch at Chafariz Restaurant, we continue our guided tour visiting the São Francisco church, Mineralogy Museum and Inconfidência Museum finishing our afternoon in a typical “ouropretana” family house to have a Baroque Coffee. Free night and dinner. Overnight..




Day 6

Ouro Preto / Mariana / Ouro Preto
. After breakfast and a visit in Oratório Museum, we leave Ouro Preto towards the historical village of Mariana. We have a typical lunch there, enjoying the delicious dishes. We are going to explore an old flooded gold mine. We descend with strollers to the old dark entrance of the mine. After lunch, we continue our tour visiting the hystorical churches as Matriz da Sé, Carmo church and São Francisco church. We get back to Ouro Preto in the end of the afternoon. Free evening and dinner. Overnight..




Day 7

Ouro Preto / Tiradentes
. After breakfast, we check out and leave to Tiradentes, in Minas Gerais State, a cozy little town that is part of the Colonial Circuit in the state (350 km – 220 miles). Tiradentes is also known for its lively arts. Check in in the pousada. After lunch go for a walk tour in the main touristic sites, in the end of the afternoon, we get back to the pousada. Free night and dinner. Overnight.




Day 8

Tiradentes / São João Del Rei / Tiradentes
. Buffet breakfast, free morning to do some shops ands enjoy the city. We suggest lunch at Viradas do Largo Restaurant. After lunch we get on board in na ancient and historical train towards São João Del Rey. We visit the city and back to Tiradentes in the end of the day. Free night and dinner. Overnight.




Day 9

Tiradentes / Petrópolis
. Buffet Breakfast. This morning, we proceed to Petropolis (5 hrs), a charming royal city that dates back on the Imperial Time.

Upon arrival, take a chariot at the main gate of the Imperial Museum and take a ride through the beautiful Avenida Koeler. You are in Petropolis, the only imperial city of all South America. Fascinated with the beauty and Nature of the mountains, D. Pedro II built his summer palace in the region he called Petropolis – Pedro’s City.

The European culture of the colonizing immigrants is present in the city’s architecture and delicious cuisine. The Imperial Museum, the Cathedral, the Crystal Palace, Santos Dumont’s former residence (today a Museum), the Quitandinha (a former casino and today a huge convention center), and the Cremerie Park are a few of the visiting sites of this beautiful city you can not miss!! After check in, we take a walk on the historical center, enjoying the Imperial Museum, Cathedral and Crystal Palaces. .




Day 10

Petropolis / Brejal Eco- Rural Circuit
. Today, we will enjoy the Country side. We drive to the little village of Posse from where we start our Circuit. Our first stop is at the Piraju Farm, where we will tasty some Cachaça, typical cheese and others liquors. We will take a walk to learn and see some local flora. Drive on to the Portal dos Cogumelos, where we will visit a mushrooms plantation – Shiitake, Shimeji, Pleurotus and Agaricus. Then, on the the Brejal Flower Farm. Here, we can see more ornamental flowers like orquids and bromelias. The last stop is the Herbs of Provence Plantation, a magnific place where we can see some great plantation of fine herbs. Opportunity to buy Herbs Oils, Sauces, Jam and other Products. .




Day 11

Petropolis/Rio de Janeiro
. After breakfast, we get on the road and drive to Rio de Janeiro. Arrival and accommodation at hotel. The Cidade Maravihosa (Marvelous City), as Brazilians call it, displays a unique blend of contrasts: old versus new, tremendous wealth amid crushing poverty, an urban metropolis nestled around mountains and a huge forest, symbolically embraced in the outstretched arms of Cristo Redentor, the statue of Christ atop Corcovado Mountain. Beaches, lagoons, mountains, rivers, forests; the famous Copacabana and Ipanema Beachs, Botanical Gardens with their century-old palms to the diversity, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and innumerable museums, libraries, cultural centers, galleries and theaters… Rio: sensuous, chaotic, sophisticated and friedly!.




Day 12

Rio de Janeiro
. Breakfast at hotel. Departure from the hotel to the Corcovado railway station at the foot of the Corcovado mountain. A 3,5 kilometer (25 minutes) train ride through the lush mountain greenery to the station on the top of the mountain. Walk 222 steps from the train station to the 38 meter high statue of Christ the Redeemer, 710 m above sea level. Time at leisure. Return to the train and ride back to the Corcovado railway station. The tour continues through the 2,1 kilometer long “Reboucas” tunnel, passing by the lake “Rodrigo de Freitas”, through the tunnel “Two brothers”, the living area of Sao Conrado and on to Barra da Tijuca, Rio’s newest and fastest growing living area. Drive along the beaches of Barra da Tijuca, Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana to the northern part of Rio with a stop at “Sambodromo”, the purposed built stadium where the Samba-schools perform during the carnival. Next stop is the biggest soccer stadium in the world, Maracana with capacity for more than 160.000 spectators. The tour continues to the downtown area, which is the business heart of Rio but it is also here where the historical sites of Rio are. Driving the narrow streets, passing by the Metropolitan Cathedral, some futuristic office buildings, the municipal theatre and the main avenue of Rio Branco before leaving the downtown area towards Sugar Loaf. Passing through Flamengo Park and Botafogo befre arriving at Urca and the cable car station to the Sugar Loaf. By cable car to the first stage, the Morro da Urca mountain (220 meters). Walk to the other side of the mountain to take the next cable car to Sugar Loaf (395 meters). Time at leisure. Return to the ground level. Return to the hotel. Private transfer from hotel to airport and end of our services!
