One of Rio's most luxurious hotels, and by far the best location, directly facing the most famous stretch of Ipanema Beach, and a short walk to great bistros and shopping in Ipanema and Leblon. The hotel has just undergone major renovations and is in tip-top shape. They have recently added the "club level" suites which are on the higher levels. It's also close to the neighborhood's swanky shops, excellent restaurants, and bars. All 220 rooms received new furniture, mattresses, carpets, and soundproof windows, and the bathrooms were completely redone with granite counters and tile. The rooms are all spacious, even the standard rooms come with bathtubs, a suit rack, and a well-lit workspace. The usual "view hierarchy" applies. The standard rooms are those from the 5th to 10th floor, looking out over the side street. Superior rooms face the same way as standard rooms but are located from the 11th floor up. The deluxe rooms provide an ocean view. Unfortunately the building has alcoves around the windows that restrict views to the side. For the ultimate in luxury reserve the junior suite. The elegantly furnished sitting room offers a front and side view towards Copacabana or Leblon.
The amenities are all outstanding, and the view from the rooftop pool deck and fitness center is amazing. The hotel offers a complimentary beach service, providing a lifeguard, security, chairs, towels, and refreshments, allowing you to take to the beach in style.
